Salt formation is the most common and effective method of increasing solubility and dissolution rates of acidic and basic drugs. The physicochemical principles of salt solubility and the influence of PH solubility profiles of acidic and basic drugs on salt formation and dissolution are discussed. The solubility of salts of acidic or basic drugs depends on how easily they dissociate into their free acid or base forms and on interrelationships of several factors, such as intrinsic solubility, PH, Pka, solubility product and maximum solubility in different dissolution media of varying PH. The interrelationships of these factors are elaborated and their influence on salt screening and the selection of optimal salt forms for development are explained. Salt screening is increasingly being adapted to high throughput experimentation, to shortlist the potential salt(s) for a comprehensive biopharmaceutical characterization at the scale up stage. The suitable salt form is then processed to the next stage of drug development.Keywords

With the increasing of population and the reduction of available land, more and more construction of buildings and other civil engineering structures have to be carried out on weak or soft soil. Owing to such soil of poor shear strength and high swelling&shrinkage, a great diversity of ground improvement techniques such as soil stabilization and reinforcement are employed to improve mechanical behaviour of soil, thereby enhancing the reliability of construction. The correct stabilization of foundation soils constitutes an increasingly important issue in the present civil engineering world. Concerns over the environment have taken significant proportions, and there is the awareness today that efforts must be made to diminish the environmental damage caused by the development of infrastructures. Therefore, it has become urgent not only to find building procedures, which will allow this objective to be achieved, but also to accelerate their implementation. This study is carried out with an intention to evaluate the effects of Quarry dust and lime on the geotechnical properties of the locally available expansive soil from Davanagere city. Tests which are to be carried out on the sample of soil dealt with specific gravity, compaction, California bearing ratio, unconfined compressive strength and shear strength. These tests are to be conducted at both nonstabilized and stabilized states by adding 2%, 4%, 6%, 8% and 10% of lime in addition with 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 25% of quarry dust. The results show the effect of quarry dust and lime on geotechnical properties of the soil samples strength. Also it may be estimated that this is an efficient way of reducing costs, without losing the strength gains and water sensibility.Keywords

Introduction: Widespread internet usage worldwide allows increased access to medical and dental information and can be used for patient self-education.Materials and Methods: Patients who were reported to the Department of Oral Medicine of Vinayaka Missions Sankarachariyar Dental College were involved in the present study. Institutional Ethical clearance was obtained. Consent was obtained from all the participants and a Questionnaire was given to all the participants. The participants were given a list of predetermined responses to choose their answer.Results: Results were calculated. Statistical analysis was done using Chi square test and p value was calculated. Conclusion: We may conclude that creating awareness amongst people of different educational backgrounds through appropriate means (following an individualized approach based on educational qualification) would increase internet usage for acquiring information on oral health.Keywords

INTRODUCTION: Mental Retardation (MR) is one of the most common issues in society, which is frequently reported with behavioural abnormalities. Sub-average intellectual ability equivalent or less than an IQ of 70 that is accompanied by significant deficits for independent physical and mental activity. Which may occur from the birth or at the infancy stage and manifest especially by delayed or abnormal development of leaning and also in social adjustment. Consanguineous marriage may lead to immature babies in their vital activity. CASE REPORT: A Case study is obtained from a 40 years male patient who was mentally retarded from birth. He was the first child for their parents whose marriage was consanguineous. The patient was born through assisted vaginal delivery using a vacuum extractor. After birth, the child didn't cry immediately. After some time the child screamed with the help of the staff nurse. A child had developmental delay compared to healthy kids in speech, physical and food activity. There was no breastfeeding for the baby from birth. CONCLUSION: The patient was mentally disabled since birth may occur due to forceful delivery by vacuum extractor may be due to the consanguineous marriage of patient's parents.Keywords
